Description

FREE 3 session programme focusing on the challenges facing teachers and students resitting the new GCSE. On completion of the programme teachers will be more confident in teaching the new GCSE as a resit and students will gain improved results. Topics covered will include:

  • The new GCSE qualification structure, themes, content & issues
  • Multiplicative Reasoning
  • Strategies to develop Maths resilience
  • Schemes of work for GCSE Resit
  • Planning of lessons in line with Schemes of Work
  • Effective use of existing good resources

Between sessions there will be gap tasks for participants to complete.

All sessions will be held at St John the Baptist School, Woking:

Tues 26 November 2019, Tues 4 February 2020 & Mon 16 March 2020, 9.30am - 3.00pm

Participants are required to attend all three sessions and complete the gap tasks.

All attendees are required to provide an NCETM User Name. If you haven't already, please obtain one by visiting NCETM Join

NB. As with all our Free or Funded Maths Hub Work Groups and programmes, we are funded by the Department for Education and therefore have to prioritise State Funded schools. If spaces are still available we are able to offer these to Independent schools, however we will need to charge fees and these will be advised separately.
